Data Visualization Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize interactive dashboards using Looker and LookML.
• Build LookML models, explores, and derived tables to support business intelligence needs.
• Create efficient data models and queries using BigQuery.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business teams to translate requirements into actionable insights.
• Implement security and governance policies within Looker to ensure data integrity and controlled access.
• Leverage GCP services to build scalable and reliable data solutions.
• Optimize dashboard performance using best practices in aggregation and visualization.
• Maintain, audit, and enhance existing Looker dashboards, reports, and LookML assets.
• Document dashboards, data sources, and processes for scalability and ease of maintenance.
• Support legacy implementations and facilitate smooth transitions.
• Build new dashboards and visualizations based on evolving business requirements.
• Work closely with data engineering teams to define and validate data pipelines for timely and accurate data delivery.

Qualifications:

• 6–8 years of experience in data visualization and BI, especially using Looker and LookML
• Strong SQL skills with experience optimizing queries for BigQuery
• Proficiency in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and related data services
• In-depth understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and database structures
• Familiarity with data governance, security, and role-based access in Looker
• Experience with BI lifecycle management (build, test, deploy, maintain)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Good storytelling and user-centric design abilities
• Experience in the media industry (OTT, DTH, Web) handling large datasets
• Knowledge of other BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Data Studio is a plus
• Experience with Python or other scripting languages for automation and data transformation is desirable
• Exposure to machine learning or predictive analytics is an advantage
