As a Databricks Data Platform Architect at InspireXT, you will be a senior member of the delivery team, responsible for architecting, building and evolving enterprise-grade Lakehouse platforms that underpin analytics, AI and regulated supply chain use cases.
You will own the foundational Lakehouse architecture on Databricks across Azure, AWS and GCP, with a strong focus on data modelling, platform structure, governance, security, scalability and long-term operability. This role is centred on establishing robust, repeatable platform foundations that enable InspireXT delivery teams to build trusted, compliant data products at scale.
You will work hands-on within delivery engagements to define platform standards, implement core architectural components, and ensure Databricks is delivered as a strategic enterprise data platform aligned to InspireXT’s Connected Intelligence vision.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lakehouse Platform Architecture
- Design and implement enterprise Databricks Lakehouse architectures across Azure, AWS and GCP
- Define platform standards for workspace topology, environment separation (dev/test/prod), networking, identity and access management
- Architect governed Lakehouse designs using Unity Catalog, Delta Lake and Medallion-based architecture patterns
- Define canonical, conformed and domain-oriented data models that support analytics, reporting and AI use cases
- Ensure architectures support regulatory, audit and compliance requirements common to supply chain environments
2. Governance, Security & Data Modeling
- Implement Unity Catalog for centralized governance, fine-grained access control, lineage and metadata management
- Define enterprise data modelling standards, naming conventions, ownership models and schema management practices
- Architect secure data sharing and cross-domain access patterns while maintaining strong governance boundaries
- Embed compliance-by-design principles into platform and Lakehouse architecture
3. Platform Delivery & Enablement
- Design and implement Lakehouse zones and layers aligned to Medallion architecture principles
- Define architectural patterns for data ingestion, refinement, consumption and sharing within the Lakehouse
- Establish standards for catalog, schema and table organisation, lifecycle management and data product ownership
- Implement and govern Lakeflow-based orchestration to manage movement and transformation of data across Lakehouse zones
- Architect consumption patterns for BI, analytics, operational reporting and AI, ensuring data products are performant, trusted and secure
- Embed platform guardrails covering governance, access control, data quality and lifecycle management across all Lakehouse layers
4. Multi-Cloud Architecture & Operations
- Architect cloud-native Databricks platforms on Azure, AWS and GCP, including storage, networking and IAM integration
- Design for performance, scalability, workload isolation and cost optimisation
- Define monitoring, observability and operational support patterns for production platforms
5. Standards, Acceleration & Mentorship
- Define reference architectures, reusable patterns and delivery standards for InspireXT’s Databricks practice
- Build accelerators and templates aligned to InspireXT’s Connected Intelligence strategy.
- Mentor engineers and architects on Lakehouse architecture, governance and modelling best practices
- Contribute to internal enablement, architecture reviews and Databricks-aligned thought leadership
