Job Description

HCL Technologies is seeking experienced and passionate DevOps Engineers to support our client, Dell, in building scalable, secure, and efficient DevOps pipelines and CI/CD workflows. This role is centered around GitHub Enterprise Administration, GitHub Actions automation, and integration of CI/CD systems with security and artifact management tools. The ideal candidate should have a strong DevOps mindset, a thorough understanding of GitHub Enterprise (on-prem), and hands-on expertise in containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and manage GitHub Enterprise (on-premise) environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and uptime.
• Lead the migration of source code repositories from legacy or alternate hosting platforms (such as Bitbucket, GitLab, or SVN) into GitHub Enterprise.
• Handle GitHub administration tasks such as managing organizations, repositories, teams, and user access controls.
• Design, build, and maintain robust CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions, focusing on automation, reusability, and scalability.
• Integrate GitHub Actions with key DevOps tools such as :
• JFrog Artifactory for artifact storage and deployment
• CheckMarx and BlackDuck for static code analysis and open-source security compliance,
• SonarQube for code quality and maintainability assessment.
• Create reusable workflow templates and modular scripts that can be shared across multiple teams and projects.
• Leverage Docker to containerize applications and services, ensuring consistency across development, testing, and production environments.
• Deploy and manage containerized workloads using Kubernetes, implementing best practices for scalability and fault tolerance.
• Collaborate closely with development, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure continuous improvement and adherence to DevSecOps principles.
  
  

Required Skills And Qualifications

• 4 to 7 years of hands-on experience in DevOps engineering roles.
• Proven expertise in managing and administering GitHub Enterprise (on-prem) environments.
• Strong understanding of Git workflows and GitOps methodologies.
• Advanced proficiency in CI/CD pipeline development, with emphasis on GitHub Actions.
• Solid scripting capabilities in one or more languages : Bash, Python, PowerShell.
• Practical experience integrating security scanning and quality assurance tools into CI/CD processes.
• Strong knowledge of container technologies : Docker (image creation, optimization, registry usage).
• Experience working with Kubernetes (resource management, Helm charts, YAML configuration).
• Familiarity with security best practices, access control, and audit logging in DevOps environments.
