Job Summary

This job is responsible for the availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning for platforms. It will engage in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems, debugging and optimizing code and automate routine tasks. It will be part of a team consisting of a mix between software and technology infrastructure backgrounds. It will provide subject matter expertise, resolve complex break/fix scenarios and engage broader teams as necessary. It will partner with engineering, vendors and client services to deliver successful technical solutions. Works with limited supervision and direction while executing associated functions and responsibilities. Follows operational practices and independently determines/develops approaches for non-routine solutions. as in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline. Usually determines own work priorities. Acts as resource for colleagues with less experience.

Job Description

Position: Engineer 3 - Site Reliability Engineering

Experience: 5 years to 7.5 years

Job Location: Chennai Tamil Nadu

Technical Skills: Terraform, Kubernetes, AWS, Ansible, GIT/GIThub, CICD, Docker, Python Scripting.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Deliver infrastructure using fault-tolerant and scalable solutions empowering user self-service
• Contribute code to continue improving across our infrastructure environments with a drive towards automation of everything.
• You will help enable innovation through continuous deployment across technology stacks and demonstrate best practices around advanced cloud solutions
• Evaluate new and emerging technologies, services, tools, and multiple vendors for innovative new capabilities, and lead Proof of Technologies
• Work closely with the Platform DevOps teams to design and engineer innovative platform solutions, and to integrate existing observability suite
  
  

• In-depth knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Route53and Lambda
• Good knowledge of AWS networking and security fundamentals (VPC, Peering, Security Groups)
• Experience in source and version control methodologies and technologies, ideally Git.
• Experience with automating tasks with CICD tooling such as Concourse
• Experience with Infrastructure as code, ideally Terraform
• Solid grasp of Agile and DevOps principles
• Familiarity using Atlassian products such as JIRA & Confluence
• Experience of deployment within an AWS enterprise environment
  
  

Core Responsibilities

Engineering technical solutions for infrastructure and application management, monitoring, and operations with standardization and automation focus

Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and address reliability and performance issues

Providing cybersecurity support such as vulnerability cleanup, secure server configuration, testing and validation, technical controls implementation and incident remediation

Working closely with developers to ensure software releases are well-designed, planned, implemented, released, and monitored

Measuring and improving reliability, quality and efficiency of platforms

Working on-call shift, and support incident prevention, response, and retrospect

Performing a variety of complex analytical duties in the planning, deployment, testing and evaluation of products

Contributing to the design and implementation of reliable and scalable infrastructure solutions with best practices, tool use, and quality assurance

Monitoring system performance and implementing improvements to optimize reliability, availability, production quality, operational efficiency, and engineering productivity

Developing and maintaining tools for monitoring, deployment, and operations

Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
