How You Will Contribute
We are looking for a skilled and motivated System Engineer with strong expertise in Linux system administration, Python scripting, and database architecture. This role involves supporting application upgrades in microservice-based environments, managing automation pipelines, and performing critical post-upgrade checks in fast-paced and high-availability settings.
- Perform Linux system administration tasks and develop automation scripts using Python.
- Design, implement, and manage SQL-based databases and contribute to architectural improvements.
- Support installation and upgrades of Microservices-based applications.
- Collaborate with teams to develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application deployment.
- Execute and improve application upgrade strategies including ISSU and canary deployments.
- Perform post-upgrade sanity checks and initial testing to ensure system stability.
- Troubleshoot deployment issues and collaborate across teams to drive resolution.
- Utilize observability tools and DevOps practices to monitor and maintain environment health.
- Work in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, and GCP with basic proficiency.
- Contribute to a collaborative, agile team environment and operate effectively under pressure during upgrades and releases.
The Must Haves:
- Strong hands-on experience in Linux system administration.
- Proficiency in Python scripting and SQL.
- Good understanding of database architecture.
- Basic working knowledge of AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and deployment automation.
- Exposure to application upgrade mechanisms such as ISSU and canary deployments.
- Hands-on experience with microservices installation and upgrade processes.
- Basic testing skills and ability to perform post-deployment verification.
- Strong troubleshooting and collaboration skills.
Assets:
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools.
- Knowledge of DevOps principles and agile practices.
- Familiarity with ITIL or ITSM processes is a plus.
- Exposure to networking concepts or telecom environments (optional, based on role context).
