DevOps Engineer SRE

Technical Skills Required:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Kafka administration, DevOps, and SRE practices.
• Deep understanding of Kafka architecture, internals, and performance tuning.
• Practical experience with Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, or GKE) and Kafka operators like Strimzi.
• Proficiency in Terraform, Helm, and setting up/managing CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong scripting abilities using Python, Bash, or Golang for automation tasks.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, ELK stack, and OpenTelemetry.
• Exposure to the broader Kafka ecosystem, including MirrorMaker 2.0, Kafka Streams, ksqlDB, and Schema Registry.
• Sound knowledge of networking, DNS, service meshes, and Kubernetes security best practices.

Soft Skills & Kafka Evangelism:

• Demonstrated passion for teaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing across engineering teams.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills — able to simplify and explain Kafka concepts to a broad audience, including non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable leading internal Kafka meetups, contributing to technical blogs, and creating educational materials to promote best practices.
• A proactive problem-solver and influencer who can champion Kafka adoption across the company.
• Strong collaboration skills — able to work effectively with developers, data engineers, and leadership teams.
