Overview
You're a DevOps engineer who believes prevention beats firefighting. If you find satisfaction in dissecting convoluted legacy systems, architecting streamlined solutions, and automating every manual process in sight, this role will resonate with you. We need a DevOps and AWS infrastructure specialist who excels under pressure, where 99.9% uptime isn't aspirational—it's baseline. Your scope spans a portfolio of acquired products, each bringing unique challenges, and your mission is migrating them into a unified, scalable AWS environment while deploying monitoring and automation that makes incidents the exception, not the rule.
Most organizations ask you to support one stack. We're asking you to consolidate and refine several stacks without service disruption. Where others separate databases, we take a different approach, consolidating them strategically to drive cost efficiency and simplify management across our portfolio. This role isn't about nursing aging infrastructure; it's about confronting a disjointed, inconsistent landscape and systematically transforming it.
Your ownership extends from infrastructure migrations through AI-powered automation, performance optimization, database transitions, and cost management. That includes troubleshooting and resolving failures, orchestrating smooth cloud migrations with minimal downtime, and leveraging AI/ML-driven workflows to automate significant portions of your workload. You'll wield genuine decision-making authority—no queuing for sign-offs from stakeholders disconnected from the technical reality.
If you're a self-directed problem-solver energized by unraveling intricate systems and achieving operational excellence, this position offers exactly that. If you require constant guidance, feel daunted by heterogeneous tech stacks, or favor greenfield builds over restoring order to complexity, this environment won't suit you. If you're prepared to assume responsibility for a high-impact infrastructure position with latitude to build, refine, and automate at scale, submit your application now!
What You Will Be Doing
- Orchestrating and implementing complex infrastructure transitions, including migrations from legacy platforms to AWS cloud infrastructure and lift-and-shift operations
- Architecting and deploying monitoring strategies and creating automations for monitoring, software releases, and operational processes
- Conducting system monitoring, system backups, incident management, database migrations, database tuning, and cost reduction initiatives
- Spending your days in Jira and interminable status calls - we prioritize people who deliver solutions, not just document issues
- Preserving obsolete systems in perpetuity - you'll be empowered to implement substantive enhancements
- Waiting on bureaucratic approval processes - you'll possess the authority to deploy immediate remediations for incidents
- Operating within restrictive technical domains - this position demands comprehensive expertise across technologies
- Justifying budget allocation for essential upgrades - we recognize infrastructure investment as fundamental
- Drive reliability and standardization of cloud infrastructure across our growing product portfolio by implementing robust monitoring, automation, and AWS best practices.
- Deep AWS infrastructure expertise (this is our primary platform - other cloud experience alone won't cut it)
- Experience scripting with Python and Bash for day-to-day administration operations
- Experience managing and migrating production databases with multiple engines (including MySql, Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL)
- Experience with infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation)
- Linux systems administration expertise
