Embedded /Firmware Senior Software Engineer

Job Overview

The Software (CE-SW) group is responsible for developing and improving the software ecosystem around Arm's next generation of applications processors and IP. This means working with processors and other hardware technology not yet available to the public. You will join a team of Software Engineers who share a passion for leaving their mark on the future of computing. You will be helping Arm grow and maintain a leading position with the Windows based Large Screen Compute market.

Responsibilities

This role is to develop product quality firmware for Windows based platform solutions.

Day-to-day activities will include

• Participating in the design, implementation of new features, integration and debugging of firmware for Windows-on-ARM systems.
• Development, debugging and testing of Windows-on-ARM features and its integration with firmware like UEFI, EC, TF-A, TF-M on different platforms including software models and FPGA systems.
• Analyse industry specs, roadmap requirements and break down tasks to help execute the project plans.
  
  

Required Skills And Experience

• 6+ Years of relevant work experience in firmware development for Linux/Windows based system software.
• Good understanding and experience maintaining software compliant with industry specifications such as UEFI and ACPI.
• Familiarity with either of the technologies such as PCIe/DDR, DRM (Digital Rights Management) , remote manageability, power management or security.
• Good understanding of system architecture (preferably ARM) and Linux/Windows operating systems and driver development.
• Excellent C/C++ programming with some knowledge of assembly and debugging skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills; excellent written and spoken English; capable of writing documentation and mentoring of junior engineers.

• Windows OS Software Architecture.
• Experience of software profiling, instrumentation, and optimization.
• Verification and validation of firmware on both pre-silicon and post-silicon platforms.
• Familiarity with open-source projects such as Linux Kernel, TF-A, UEFI EDK II and EC.
