Overview
- Schneider Electric is building an internal engineering capability to take full ownership of Orchestra, its enterprise Digital Thread and PLM platform built on Aras Innovator. While a significant portion of the platform delivery is currently supported by external partners, this role is intended to bring core platform development leadership in‑house, driving improved cost efficiency, higher delivery speed and quality, and long‑term platform sustainability in alignment with the Aras product roadmap and Design Authority guidance.
- We are seeking an expert and highly competent Aras Innovator Senior Developer with demonstrated experience delivering enterprise‑scale implementations and complex, multi‑system integrations. This is a hands‑on development and delivery role by design. The successful candidate will be directly responsible for platform code delivery while progressively enabling an internal Aras platform delivery team and industrializing development through DevSecOps practices.
- As a Senior Software Engineer for Orchestra, you will act as the technical expert for Aras Innovator development and platform evolution.
- You will design and implement data models, workflows, integrations, and performance and security improvements, while remaining actively involved in hands‑on development.
- In parallel, you will be given the opportunity to progressively lead to establish and enforce engineering standards and mentor internal developers to build a sustainable, high‑performing internal platform capability.
- Technical Leadership & Delivery
- Lead end-to-end implementation of Orchestra capabilities on Aras Innovator (config/customization, data model, workflows, lifecycle, permissions, UI/UX).
- Own development of priority use cases currently delivered by external suppliers and drive structured insourcing over time.
- Translate product/process needs into scalable Aras solutions (ItemTypes/Relationships, AML, C# server-side, client scripts, methods, workflows).
- Ensure solutions remain supportable and upgrade-safe, aligned with Aras best practices and Design Authority recommendations.
- Review/approve technical designs, code, and release packages; manage technical debt and refactoring.
- Design/implement integrations with the Digital Thread ecosystem (e.g., Windchill, Jira, Jama, ALM/MBSE tools, test tools) using APIs, eventing, and integration patterns.
- Collaborate with integration/enterprise architects to maintain consistent patterns (authN/authZ, logging, monitoring, error handling).
- Establish development standards (branching strategy, code reviews, automated tests, CI/CD, release governance).
- Improve platform reliability and performance (scalability, indexing, query optimization, caching strategies).
- Coach/mentor internal engineers and help ramp up Aras skills.
- Partner with Product Owners, Process/PLM leaders, and global engineering teams to prioritize backlog and define delivery roadmaps.
- Work effectively with Aras Design Authority and vendors—owning outcomes and ensuring knowledge transfer.
- 8+ years in enterprise platform engineering; 3+ years hands-on with Aras Innovator (or comparable PLM low-code platform with strong willingness to ramp quickly).
- Strong understanding of Aras core concepts: data modeling, lifecycles, workflows, permissions, methods, AML, client/server scripting.
- Experience with enterprise integrations (REST/SOAP, middleware, event-driven patterns, ETL/ELT, identity).
- Solid engineering fundamentals: source control (Git), CI/CD, automated testing, environments, release management.
- Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning capability in a multi-environment enterprise setting.
