Freelance Senior Data Scientist (Client Hire)

Flexing It has partnered with Our client a a vendor-neutral AI operating layer that plugs into your existing healthcare data and orchestrates workflows is looking for a Consultant- Senior Data Scientist. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role within a small cross-functional team, working closely with graph engineers and machine learning scientists to scale the platform’s knowledge-graph infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement unified Neo4j property-graph models from heterogeneous healthcare datasets.
• Build and enhance ETL pipelines for structured and semi-structured clinical data ingestion.
• Develop and maintain Cypher queries and graph algorithms for downstream analytics and AI applications.
• Ensure data integrity through quality checks, lineage tracking, and compliance with healthcare data regulations.
• Produce clear technical documentation and share implementation best practices with internal teams.

Skills Required

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Informatics, Data Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of full-time experience in data science or data engineering roles.
• Demonstrated expertise in Neo4j or similar knowledge graph technologies in a production setting.
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with at least one modern ML framework.
• Hands-on exposure to healthcare or life sciences datasets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate across global time zones.
• Familiarity with clinical terminologies such as FHIR, HL7, SNOMED, ICD-10, etc.
• Experience with knowledge-graph embeddings or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines.
• Prior work in compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, or similar regulatory frameworks.
