Full Stack Developer

Role: Full-Stack Developer

Location: Pune

About the Role

We are seeking a Full-Stack Developer passionate about using technology for social impact. In this role, you will help design and build web applications that support WOTR’s field operations, agricultural advisory systems, and data platforms. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including domain experts, researchers, and field staff, to deliver solutions that directly benefit rural communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Python (e.g., Django, FastAPI, or Flask) to support agricultural and rural development platforms.
• Build responsive, user-friendly web interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (e.g., React).
• Collaborate with WOTR’s data and field teams to translate real-world needs into technical solutions.
• Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and security in rural connectivity contexts.
• Participate in code reviews, maintain documentation, and follow development best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience as a full-stack developer.
• Proficiency in Python for backend development with a web framework such as Django, FastAPI, or Flask.
• Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and experience with a modern frontend framework (React preferred).
• Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), non-relational database (MongoDB) and version control (Git, Github).
• Ability to write clean, maintainable code and collaborate with non-technical stakeholders.
• Passion for technology-driven solutions in climate resilience, agriculture, or rural development.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure**) and containerization (Docker).

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
