Full Stack Developer (Remote, India)

Spazafy is a creative digital consultancy focused on building impactful tech solutions for social change across Africa and beyond. We are seeking a talented Full Stack Developer based in India to join our remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, deploying, and maintaining both front-end and back-end components of web and mobile applications. You will collaborate closely with a multicultural team, translating ideas into functional, user-friendly digital products.

Requirements

Education:

A Bachelor’s degree (or pursuing/final year) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent practical coding experience, bootcamp certification, or portfolio work will also be considered.

Technical Skills:

You should have proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with experience using at least one modern JavaScript framework or library like React, Angular, or Vue.js. Back-end development skills with Node.js, Python, PHP, or similar technologies are required. Familiarity with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, and/or NoSQL databases like MongoDB is important. You should understand RESTful APIs and how to integrate third-party services. Experience deploying web or mobile applications to production environments such as cloud servers, Play Store, and App Store is necessary. Knowledge of version control systems like Git and the ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications are essential.

Language and Communication:

Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is required. Strong communication skills to work effectively within a remote, multicultural team environment are essential.

Soft Skills and Work Style:

A problem-solving mindset and attention to detail are important qualities. You should be able to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. Curiosity and willingness to learn new tools, frameworks, and technologies are highly valued. The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, along with good time management skills to handle multiple tasks or projects, is necessary.

Nice-to-Have:

Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or DigitalOcean, basic knowledge of CI/CD pipelines or DevOps practices, exposure to mobile app development frameworks like React Native or Flutter, and experience working on tech-for-good or social impact projects would be advantageous.
