Threat Analyst

This role is part of NCR Voyix’s Global Information Security team. This team is responsible for developing and implementing NCR Voyix’s corporate information security program. The primary goal of the program is to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information resources. Key information security functions and activities include architecture and design for NCR Voyix’s information security controls, developing and enforcing policies and standards, security awareness training, risk management, assessment, and testing, monitoring and metrics, incident management, and threat and vulnerability management.

As a Threat Analyst, you will play a critical role in proactively identifying and analyzing potential cyber threats, conducting threat hunts, and delivering actionable intelligence to enhance our organization’s security posture. You will work closely with our incident response and security operations teams to detect, mitigate, and prevent cyber threats before they cause harm. This position includes on-call/after hour support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Automate processes for threat intelligence collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Monitor and analyze cyber threat intelligence feeds and tools to identify relevant threats to the organization.
• Conduct proactive threat hunting to identify hidden or unknown threats across our environment.
• Analyze data from various sources (network logs, endpoint data, threat feeds) to detect anomalous behaviors and potential indicators of compromise (IOCs).
• Develop and maintain advanced threat detection techniques, tactics, and procedures (TTPs).
• Collaborate with the incident response team to provide actionable insights during investigations.
• Generate threat intelligence reports and brief key stakeholders on evolving threat landscapes.
• Stay current with the latest threat intelligence, attack methods, and industry trends.
• Contribute to the development of threat detection and response processes and playbooks.
  
  

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in information security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 3+ years of experience in threat intelligence, threat hunting, pen testing, or a related cybersecurity role.
• Strong understanding of threat intelligence platforms (TIPs), threat modeling, and frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK.
• Experience with SIEM tools, EDR solutions, and network monitoring tools.
• Ability to analyze malware, phishing attacks, and network intrusions.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to automate tasks and analyze data.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think like an attacker to uncover potential threats.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Industry certifications such as GCTI, GCIH, CEH, or OSCP.
• Experience with threat hunting methodologies and incident response frameworks.
• Familiarity with cloud security monitoring and incident response in environments like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or with red/blue team engagements.
