The role pertains to the Platform Team in Aereo whose charter is to build and maintain our cloud-based enterprise SaaS platform, Aereo Cloud. Aereo Cloud is a powerful platform which enables organizations to store, manage, visualize and analyze their drone-based geospatial data at PB-scale and generate critical and actionable business insights based on this data.
About the Internship
Join us in strengthening the quality and reliability of the Aereo Cloud Platform by building and improving automated testing systems. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on a production-grade platform, gain real-world experience with end-to-end testing, and enhance your frontend engineering skills.
What You’ll Work On
1. End-to-End Frontend Testing
Identifying and listing test cases based on application workflows and feature requirements.
Write and run comprehensive end-to-end tests using Playwright, simulating real user actions across key features.
Help ensure platform stability by catching regressions, bugs, and edge cases through automated tests.
Create reusable test utilities and improve overall test performance and reliability.
2. Frontend Codebase Refactoring for test readiness
Collaborate with the team to refactor and structure parts of the React frontend codebase to improve testability, maintainability, and scalability where needed.
Identify and fix issues in the codebase such as unexpected rendering behavior, inconsistent state management, or tightly coupled logic that affects the performance of product.
Responsibilities
Writing and maintaining E2E tests using Playwright for different user journeys.
Creating testing strategies to improve test coverage and reliability.
Working with developers to identify untested scenarios and improve test workflows.
Refactoring React components to make them more readable, reusable, and scalable.
Taking part in code reviews, sprint planning, and team discussions on improving code quality and testing practices.
What We’re Looking For
Good knowledge of TypeScript, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), and React.
Familiarity with frontend testing tools like Playwright, Jest, or similar.
Understanding of modern web development, version control (Git), and frontend build tools.
Strong attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.
Ability to work independently and take responsibility for assigned work.
Nice to Have
Experience with visual testing (e.g. screenshot comparisons).
Familiarity with Docker.
Exposure to mapping libraries such as Cesium, OpenLayers, or MapLibre.
