About the job:

Key responsibilities:

1. Develop the native iOS application from scratch, using the existing web UI as a reference for design and functionality.
2. Implement user interfaces and features in Swift and SwiftUI, ensuring smooth performance on iOS and MacOS devices.
3. Integrate Apple-specific technologies such as HealthKit, MapKit, and Apple Watch functionality.
4. Consume and coordinate with existing REST APIs for data retrieval and updates, maintaining consistency with the web application.
5. Ensure the app supports offline functionality, syncing data upon reconnection.
6. Implement push notifications, real-time geolocation tracking, and ensure a responsive, reliable user experience.
7. Conduct thorough testing, maintain high coding standards, address performance bottlenecks, and resolve bugs promptly.
8. Stay up-to-date with iOS development trends and propose innovative solutions to enhance user engagement and experience.

Other Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

2. 1-3 years of professional experience in iOS development with strong proficiency in Swift and SwiftUI.

3. Proven experience integrating apps with REST APIs.

4. Familiarity with HealthKit, MapKit, and Apple Watch integrations.

5. Capable of building interfaces and functionalities that work seamlessly across iPhone, iPad, and MacOS.

6. Access to a personal MacBook with Apple Silicon (M1 or newer) for development.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience with UIKit and MapBox SDK.

2. Past integration of payment gateways such as PayPal or Stripe.

3. Experience developing chat or messenger applications.

4. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and remote collaboration tools.

5. Background in apps related to outdoor activities, fitness, or health.

6. Knowledge of the App Store deployment and release process.
