Position: IT Systems Administrator
Department: Administration
Reporting To: Head of Admin (Direct) / Managing Director (Dotted Line)
Location: Bangalore
Team Size: Individual Contributor
Role Purpose
The IT Systems Administrator will manage and maintain the organization’s IT infrastructure — covering hardware, networking, server and email systems, security, and user support.
As the company’s first in-house IT resource, the role combines hands-on operations with strategic groundwork for future digital improvement and automation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Infrastructure Management
- Manage procurement, installation, and maintenance of all IT hardware (desktops, laptops, printers, routers, etc.).
- Maintain the IT asset register and conduct regular system health checks.
- Oversee three office networks, ensuring firewall and connectivity performance.
- Coordinate with Admin and vendors for procurement, AMC, and support.
2. Server, Domain & Email Administration
- Administer the on-premises email server, including user accounts, permissions, and security.
- Maintain the company domain, DNS, and SSL certificates.
- Ensure smooth operation of the website and apps; liaise with vendors for maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Monitor server uptime, storage, and email security.
3. Software & Application Support
- Serve as first-line support for all applications — ERP (Tally), POS (QueueBuster), custom modules, and Bizom.
- Troubleshoot and escalate issues to vendors when required.
- Maintain configuration documentation, version control, and update logs.
4. Security, Backup & Data Management
- Monitor firewall activity, antivirus protection, and network security.
- Implement a structured local/cloud data backup system for critical files and ERP data.
- Conduct periodic audits to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
5. User Support & Training
- Provide direct user support for system, email, and hardware issues.
- Track and resolve user tickets, documenting recurring problems.
- Conduct awareness sessions on cyber safety and IT best practices.
6. IT Development & Process Improvement
- Identify automation and process improvement opportunities.
- Recommend tools to enhance productivity, collaboration, and data flow.
- Develop and maintain internal IT and data security policies.
- Evaluate emerging technologies aligned with organizational needs.
Key Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS, networking, and basic server management.
- Experience with firewalls, antivirus systems, and ERP/POS tools.
- Excellent troubleshooting and vendor coordination abilities.
- Independent, detail-oriented, and accountable for uptime and service quality.
- Clear communication and documentation skills.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Computer Science, IT, or related fields.
- 3–6 years’ experience in IT infrastructure and systems management.
- Relevant certifications (CCNA, CompTIA, etc.) preferred.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
