Cadence is seeking a skilled and proactive Database Administrator (DBA) with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in managing and maintaining either Oracle or SQL Server databases. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of our databases, with a strong focus on backup and restoration, performance monitoring, and optimization.

Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day operational support for databases of business applications.
Troubleshoot performance issues in a timely and efficient manner.
Be willing to learn and work across Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres and Cloud databases
Administer, maintain, and support application databases.
Perform regular database backups and ensure successful restoration procedures.
Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations.
Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
Implement and maintain database security (user roles, permissions, etc.).
Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to support application requirements.
Maintain documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and policies.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
Collaborate with other technical resources and stakeholders regarding status, technical issues and creative solutions
Participate and engage in all team meetings
Document best practices and operational procedures
Facilitate continuous improvement within the environment
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience as a DBA working with Oracle or SQL Server.
Proven experience in backup and recovery strategies.
Strong skills in performance tuning and query optimization.
Familiarity with database monitoring tools and techniques.
Good understanding of database security and compliance standards.
Preferred Skills
Experience with automation tools and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
Exposure to cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL).
Certification in Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server is a plus.
Soft Skills
Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally. Confident in presenting technical solution to business
Experience documenting technical design
Keen attention to detail and complex problem solving abilities from an operational and technical perspective.
Ability to work independently and engage supervisor as needed.
