IT Business Analyst (225-730)

Job Description

An IT Business Analyst plays a pivotal role in the intersection of business and technology. They are responsible for understanding business needs and leveraging technology to maximize business performance. By effectively communicating with stakeholders and discerning the technical capabilities required to address business challenges, IT Business Analysts ensure that an organization's technological solutions are aligned with its goals. This position requires a combination of analytical skills, communication skills, and an understanding of both business processes and information technology. IT Business Analysts work to enhance the efficiency of IT services, reduce operational risks, and drive innovation. They are instrumental in guiding projects from conception through completion by conducting research, performing analysis, and co-ordinating with various departments to ensure that business requirements are met through effective technological solutions.

Responsibilities

• Gather and interpret business requirements from key stakeholders and translate into technical specifications.
• Identify and propose innovative technological solutions to meet business needs and improve performance.
• Collaborate closely with IT and development teams to ensure the correct implementation of solutions.
• Conduct data analysis and document findings to support strategic decision-making processes.
• Facilitate discussions between business units and IT teams to identify system improvements.
• Create clear, concise documentation such as requirement specifications, workflow diagrams, and user guides.
• Participate in testing processes to validate that solutions meet business and technical requirements.
• Deliver training sessions and workshops to guide users on new system functionalities.
• Regularly evaluate existing processes and systems to identify areas for enhancement or change.
• Ensure timely and efficient completion of projects, adhering to budgets and deadlines.
• Focus on change management and assist with adapting policies to evolving technologies.
• Monitor market trends and new technologies to keep abreast of industry standards and advancements.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a business analyst role, preferably within IT environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
• Proven experience with data analysis and modeling techniques, including the use of analytics tools.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, prioritizing workload as needed.
• Practical experience with project management methodologies such as Agile or Scrum preferred.
• Knowledge of business process improvement and system analysis techniques is advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
