Overview
Roles and Responsibilities :
1. IT Infrastructure and Systems Management
Manage and maintain all IT infrastructure within the cinema premises — including servers, networks, POS terminals, and workstations.
Ensure reliable operation of digital projection systems, sound systems, and automation interfaces.
Oversee installation and maintenance of theatre management systems (TMS) and screen scheduling software.
Ensure stable internet and LAN connectivity across box office, concession counters, and admin offices.
2. Ticketing and POS Systems
Maintain and troubleshoot online and offline ticketing systems (e.g., BookMyShow, in-house ticketing software).
Support Point-of-Sale (POS) systems used for concessions, merchandise, and food counters.
Coordinate with software vendors for system updates, bug fixes, and integration issues.
Monitor sales transactions and ensure data accuracy between ticketing, finance, and reporting systems.
3. Digital Projection and Audio Systems Support
Provide technical support for digital cinema projection systems (DCP servers, projectors, playback systems).
Ensure timely ingestion of movie content (DCPs) and key delivery message (KDM) management.
Troubleshoot projection or audio system failures during showtimes to minimize downtime.
Coordinate with equipment vendors for calibration, preventive maintenance, and software updates.
4. Network and Connectivity
Maintain secure, stable Wi-Fi and LAN connectivity across theatre premises.
Support IPTV systems, CCTV, and access control networks.
Ensure sufficient network bandwidth for ticketing, streaming, and business operations.
Manage firewall, VPN, and data backup configurations.
5. IT Security and Data Management
Safeguard customer and transactional data through proper security policies.
Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and PCI-DSS (for payment systems).
Monitor antivirus, firewalls, and endpoint protection software.
Perform regular data backups and maintain disaster recovery procedures.
6. User Support and Troubleshooting
Provide on-site IT support to theatre staff for daily operational issues.
Troubleshoot hardware/software issues in ticket counters, kiosks, and offices.
Train staff on system usage, updates, and basic troubleshooting.
Maintain detailed documentation of issues and resolutions.
7. Vendor and AMC Management
Coordinate with external vendors for system maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
Manage Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs) for IT equipment, projection systems, and software.
Evaluate vendor performance and ensure timely service delivery.
8. Software and Hardware Inventory
Maintain inventory of IT assets – computers, printers, routers, projectors, servers, etc.
Track license renewals for operating systems and cinema software.
Recommend hardware or software upgrades based on operational needs.
9. Reporting and Communication
Prepare daily or weekly IT status reports for management (system up time, issues resolved, maintenance activities).
Communicate technical updates or disruptions clearly to theatre managers and staff.
Support the finance and operations teams with IT-related reports or data exports.

Education and Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in IT support, preferably in cinema, retail, or hospitality.
