IT Manager

Job Description

Website Monitoring and maintenance:

• Oversees maintaining and supporting services for multi-platform or critical applications.
• Trains others on methods, tools, and techniques for supporting multiple applications.
• Manages the impact of change to applications within one's own area of responsibility.
• Facilitates regulatory and mandated system enhancements.
• Supervises the planning and development of enhancements for production systems.
• Challenges application maintenance engineers to use reverse engineering tools for diagrams and documents
• Administers and maintains the organization's email system(s).
• Monitors server performance and mail routing.
• Creates user accounts and maintains security levels on databases.
• Monitors existing messaging infrastructure and server usage, ensuring proper working order.

Server Management:

• Good knowledge of server automation languages like bash, and PowerShell.
• Operating Systems: Linux (OEL, Red hat, SUSE, etc.), various Unix, Windows
• Some Authentication type experience: Kerberos, NIS, Active Directory
• Network: NFS, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, UDP, IP Routing, SAMBA/CIFS, etc.

Backup & Risk Management:

• Server Maintenance, Backups, Performance Audit, Logging, and Monitoring
• Security and availability of infrastructure, servers, and services.
• Infrastructure/server backup and recovery, AWS and Azure backup/recovery tools
• Risk assessment and risk mitigation plan evaluations.

Vendor Management & Coordination:

• Manage day-to-day issues with suppliers (support/billing) to ensure efficient support and value for money is provided, escalating issues to higher management as appropriate.
• Provide input into IT budget preparation process for services from third-party suppliers and responsible for monitoring expenditure on the third-party support services with respect to IT budget.
• Capture client requirements and develop RFP documentation for procurement of systems and Services.

Resource management:

• Ensure workload is evenly distributed across all staff & escalation procedures are followed and reduce skill gaps in the team
• Ensure sufficient staff is available, and manage timesheets and holidays.
• Ensure all work is captured against the correct account, SLA, status, and priority, and that staff take ownership of their own tickets.
• Responsible for ensuring that all IT assets (hardware, software & documents) are accounted for within the service management system.

Infrastructure management:

• Maintain Infrastructure layout of in-house infra and for the customer.
• Maintain BCP plan for in-house and for customers.
• Good knowledge of Disaster recovery plans for in-house, AWS and Azure.
• Good knowledge of Infrastructure security and proactive monitoring.
• Having high-level knowledge of Infrastructure (DC or cloud, AWS)
• Helped the team keep track of IT systems and related instruments to enhance project growth.
• Evaluate network hardware and software requirements and capabilities and make recommendations.
• Works with the team to ensure that the computer system platform provides sufficient computing resources to deliver the desired level of business performance.
• Performs analysis of network needs and contributes to the design of network architecture, integration, and installation.
• Keep an eye on computer operation scheduling, backup, storage, and retrieval functions.

Bid and proposal management:

• Delivery of compliant, professionally produced proposals within customer-defined timeframes
• Coordinate and review/edit proposal input from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from sales, marketing, product teams and finance, commercial, legal, and delivery
• Communicate and influence at a senior level
• Ability to coach sales teams and subject matter experts in persuasive writing and proposal best practice
• Proposal automation software (or similar) experience
• Document template management in line with company branding

Resource management:

• Defines roles and responsibilities for direct reporters
• Evaluate the performance of direct reporters
• Provides career counseling and development.
• Serves as a channel for company communications
• Executes company policies and practices
• Secures future work opportunities
• Keep a healthy environment among the team

Skills & Experience:

Experience required: 15+ years

Cloud-based services:

• Automation Software such as Puppet, Chef, Jenkins
• Cloud infrastructure such as AWS, MS-Azure, etc.
• Network services in the cloud such as Content delivery networks (Akamai, Cloud Front, etc.) and DNS servers.
• Source control git, GitHub, SVN, Bitbucket
• Designing best practices for backups, and whole infrastructure.
• Having a healthy knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and containers.
• Hands-on experience of AWS and Azure CI-CD pipeline.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation tools like Terraform, and CloudFormation.
• AWS and Azure billing and cost management.
• Design AWS and Azure infrastructure.

Compliances:

• Good knowledge of ITIL
• PCI DSS compliances and organization certification norms.
• ISO 27001:2013 ISMS compliances and organization norms.
• Tisax certification knowledge.
• Knowledge of GDPR compliance.

Website Migration/Server Migration:

• Website deployment over Dev, QC, and Staging environments
• Migration sites/applications from in-house/another cloud platform to AWS/Azure cloud.
• Server hardware specification and capacity planning
• Ongoing software installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, patching, and upgrades Operating system performance tuning
• Good knowledge of Cloud patch management tools like AWS System Manager(SSM) and Azure Update Manager.
