Job Summary :
We’re looking for an experienced IT portfolio manager who has handled large programs (SAP ERP) and conversant with financial/commercial aspects of project portfolio including business case preparation, Capex/Opex management, ROI analysis, creating project charters/roadmap, Steerco presentations etc.This role leads the strategic oversight and governance of the organization’s IT project and program portfolio and responsible for evaluating and prioritizing initiatives, conducting business case and financial analyses, and ensuring alignment of the IT portfolio with business objectives. The IT Portfolio Manager plays a critical role in optimizing investments, managing risk, and driving value delivery across the enterprise.
- Portfolio Strategy & Governance: Develop and manage the IT portfolio management framework, processes, and tools to ensure effective governance and strategic alignment.
- Business Case Analysis: Review and assess business cases for proposed IT initiatives, evaluating benefits, costs, risks, timelines, and strategic fit.
- Financial Analysis & Budgeting: Conduct detailed financial analyses including ROI, TCO, NPV, and payback periods to support investment decisions and ongoing portfolio optimization.
- Project Prioritization & Selection: Evaluate and prioritize projects based on business value, financial impact, risk, capacity, and resource requirements.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Track and report on portfolio performance, including financial metrics, risk exposure, resource utilization, and value realization.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business leaders, finance, and IT teams to ensure portfolio decisions meet enterprise goals and stakeholder expectations.
- Resource Planning & Optimization: Analyze capacity and demand to ensure efficient use of resources across the portfolio.
- Governance & Compliance: Ensure portfolio activities adhere to enterprise policies, governance frameworks, and compliance requirements.
- Master’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in IT portfolio, project, or program management.
- Proven experience in conducting business case evaluations and financial analysis of IT investments.
- Strong understanding of IT governance, project lifecycle methodologies (Agile, Waterfall), and budgeting.
- Proficiency with portfolio management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project Online, ServiceNow, Planview).
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
