Job Title: IT System Administrator.
Experience - 2- 4 Years
Job Summary:
The IT System Administrator is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization. They actively resolve problems and issues with computer and server systems to limit work disruptions within the company.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
1. System Maintenance & Support
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and related hardware/software.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
- Perform regular system and software updates, patches, and configuration changes.
- Manage backups and disaster recovery operations.
2. Network Administration
- Maintain and monitor LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, and other network devices.
- Ensure network security through firewalls, access controls, and antivirus solutions.
- Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues, including switches, routers, and cabling.
3. User Support & Helpdesk
- Provide technical support for end-users, including desktop/laptop setup, troubleshooting, and application support.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights (e.g., Active Directory, Office 365).
- Maintain inventory of IT assets, licenses, and hardware.
4. Security & Compliance
- Implement and monitor IT security policies and procedures.
- Ensure systems comply with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Assist in internal and external audits as needed.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, and network diagrams.
- Prepare reports on system performance, incidents, and maintenance activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in system or network administration.
- Proficiency in Windows/Linux server environments.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS) is a plus.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, MCSA, CCNA) preferred.
