Job Title: Java Developer (Architecture & Leadership-Focused)

About the Role:

WEQ Technologies is on the lookout for a hands-on Java Developer who brings more than just code to the table. We’re looking for someone with solid backend architecture knowledge, deep coding expertise, and a natural ability to guide and collaborate with a team — someone who values clean code, scalable systems, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do:

✅ Architect and develop scalable, secure, and high-performance Java-based web applications
✅ Take ownership of system design and backend architecture (Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate)
✅ Guide and mentor junior developers; promote clean code, reviews, and process discipline
✅ Design and implement RESTful APIs; integrate with front-end and third-party services
✅ Handle deployment and release management (AWS or similar platforms preferred)
✅ Troubleshoot complex issues, optimize performance, and ensure system reliability
✅ Collaborate with cross-functional teams — Tech, Product, UI/UX — to ship features fast
✅ Keep learning, exploring, and pushing technology boundaries

Must-Have Skills:

✔️ Strong expertise in Core Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate
✔️ Good understanding of system architecture and object-oriented design principles
✔️ Experience with RESTful APIs, MySQL/PostgreSQL, and server deployment
✔️ Hands-on with AWS or similar cloud platforms
✔️ Passion for clean, maintainable, and testable code
✔️ Proactive attitude and experience working in startup/agile environments
✔️ Ability to take initiative, lead by example, and work with minimal supervision

Bonus Points (Preferred but not mandatory):

➕ Knowledge of Microservices Architecture
➕ Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerized deployment
➕ Exposure to front-end frameworks (React, Angular)
➕ Team-building or mentorship experience in past roles
