At Ciena’s Blue Planet division, you will join an agile, innovative team advancing the automation of the world’s most complex networks. You will have the opportunity to work with leading-edge networking technologies, cloud-native architecture, and large-scale automation systems that power global communications.

How You Will Contribute

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native microservices using Java and modern frameworks such as Spring Boot / Spring Cloud.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs for configuration management, operational data, and telemetry services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to containerize applications using Docker and deploy them on Kubernetes/OpenShift platforms.
• Support service-to-service communication and asynchronous processing using Apache Kafka.
• Design and manage relational database schemas (PostgreSQL/MySQL) to ensure data consistency and reliability in automation workflows.
• Participate in code reviews, Git branching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, and deployment.
• Work in an Agile/Scrum environment, actively contributing to sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
  
  

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience with an academic percentage above 85% or 8.5 CGPA.
• Around 1 year of hands-on experience in Java development.
• Experience or understanding of Spring Boot / REST API development.
• Basic understanding of microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift environments.
• Working knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Experience with Git-based version control and basic CI/CD concepts.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  
  

• Exposure to Apache Kafka for messaging and event-driven systems.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Interest in network automation and cloud-native platforms.
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or OpenSearch.
• Basic exposure to automation tools like Ansible.
