What You’ll Do In The Role
Operational Risk and Regulatory Control Technology is seeking an experienced Python developer and technical analyst to join our regulatory reporting team.
This role involves developing and enhancing applications that monitor and file reports on security products and financials in compliance with regulatory requirements. 2026 objectives include delivering new functionalities to support key bank initiatives, implementing features to minimize manual user intervention, replacing legacy data feeds, and upgrading the technology stack.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, strategic thinker who thrives in a collaborative team environment. The ability to adapt to change and quickly learn new concepts in a fast-paced regulatory setting is essential.
Responsibilities
- Develop core components to serve an enterprise-scale, position aggregation, monitoring and reporting system;
- Create rule set flows that filter/enrich and calculate data for regulatory reporting
- Learn the regulatory context of our reporting
- Work with clients to understand the scope and business requirements
- Build client relationships and manage delivery expectations
- Create detailed technical specifications
- Draft and update application documentation and runbooks
- Participate in technical discussions and decisions to improve the system
- Perform code reviews
- Conduct testing and change management
- Support User Acceptance Testing, training sessions and user demos
- Effectively investigate and troubleshoot escalated application issues
- Assist clients on application and data analysis queries
- Work with data providers to ensure upstream data requirements are met
- Conduct data analysis to ensure quality and alignment with upstream data sources
- Escalate production data issues to the providers
- The candidate should be a developer with 3+ years of working primary experience in Python application development with exposure to Java and ETL (as secondary). The candidate should have good communication skills, problem solving skills and business analysis skills.
- Strong proficiency in Python Language and understanding OOP concepts
- Good understanding of common Java frameworks and technologies, including Spring Framework.
- Experience on web services, including knowledge of REST / SOAP / XML/ JSON
- Web development experience using HTML5, JavaScript and Angular 10+
- Extensive experience working on UNIX platform, Python scripting and managing Autosys jobs.
- Expert knowledge of DB2 or Sybase, SQL Stored Procedures, Triggers and SQL query optimization
- Strong data analytical skills (SQL)
- Experience in SDLC process and Agile Methodology (daily standup ceremony)
- Strong oral and written communication skills ss
- Excellent interpersonal skills and professional approach
- Familiar with Eclipse IDE
- working experience with Kafka or MQ
- Experience working in medium to large-scale development projects with preference in the financial industry
- At least 4 years’ relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Cloud technology
- Experience in Informatica/ETL Tools
- Experience in Java multiple-threading/Springboot program is highly preferred
- Financial industry knowledge, preferably in Sales & Trading or Investment Banking
- Knowledge of trades data, positions data, reference data.
