Overview
Job Role: Principal Support Engineer
Location: Trivandrum & Kochi
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end support process for eServices incidents, software patches, and platform availability.
- Support and maintain a Java 8 based application running on Tomcat, serving over 20,000 users.
- Triage and prioritize incoming support incidents and provide timely resolution.
- Communicate incident status and progress updates to stakeholders.
- Conduct and document Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major incidents.
- Coordinate release activities across infrastructure, security, and development teams.
- Oversee UAT sign-offs and assess readiness for production deployments.
- Participate in weekend or out-of-hours deployments as required (primary work hours align with standard business hours).
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience supporting production systems with at least 100+ users.
- Strong collaboration skills across multiple teams including infrastructure, architecture, and information security.
- Experience in maintaining and upgrading legacy systems on Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
- Proficient in using Linux commands for troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Jira.
- Solid understanding of Java and Tomcat; experience managing JAR packages and troubleshooting deployments.
- High-level knowledge of Java web applications, network security, and routing.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
Preferred/Optional Skills:
- Exposure to DevOps practices, especially in improving build and deployment pipelines.
- Working knowledge of Azure Log Analytics for monitoring and diagnostics.
