Junior Web Developer

Overview

Job Summary:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Web Developer to join our growing development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in PHP and its frameworks (like CodeIgniter/Laravel), JavaScript, and SQL. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining dynamic web applications, resolving bugs, writing clean code, and collaborating with front-end developers and designers to deliver high-performance solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Write clean, well-designed code using PHP and its frameworks (such as CodeIgniter or Laravel)
• Develop and maintain backend functionality of web applications
• Work with MySQL or SQL databases, write queries, and optimize database performance
• Use JavaScript, jQuery, and basic front-end skills to support UI interactions
• Collaborate with front-end developers, designers, and project managers
• Debug, test, and troubleshoot software issues and improve existing code
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best development practices
• Assist in deploying and maintaining web projects on live servers

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of PHP and at least one PHP framework (CodeIgniter or Laravel preferred)
• Basic to intermediate understanding of JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS
• Good command over MySQL/SQL with ability to write and optimize queries
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and JSON
• Basic understanding of version control systems (Git is a plus)
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Strong communication skills and willingness to learn

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Internship or project experience in web development using PHP
• Exposure to tools like VS Code, Postman, phpMyAdmin, GitHub
