As the Lead Data Engineer, you'll spearhead the technical delivery of projects, ensuring they align with business goals. You'll leverage your technical expertise to lead and coordinate across various tech domains, including Data & Cloud Engineering, Software Engineering, and AI, while collaborating closely with stakeholders. Accountabilities

Design, develop, and manage scalable and robust data infrastructure to support analytics and AI projects.

Collaborate with product managers, architects, and delivery managers to define and drive the technical vision, ensuring alignment with product objectives and business needs.

Maintain detailed technical designs, refine user stories, and manage technical risks and resource allocation.

Lead and mentor technical teams (Data Engineering, AI, etc.) and work with AI/GenAI leads to foster collaboration and innovation.

Define and communicate governance frameworks for Data Engineering, including risk management and performance metrics.

Develop and implement advanced analytical models to extract meaningful insights from large datasets.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, data security, and industry standards.

Continuously monitor and improve the performance of data systems and analytics solutions.

Ensure data solutions adhere to FAIR principles to enhance usability and sharing.

Essential Skills/Experience

• 10+ years in data and software engineering.
• Deep expertise in Data Engineering, Software Engineering and AI.
• Strong understanding of DevOps, DataOps, and product management.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and CI/CD practices (GitHub Actions, Automation Testing).
• Proficiency in technologies like Snowflake, DBT, Fivetran, and tools like Jira.
• Skilled in coding languages (Java, Python) and cloud services (AWS, Airflow, ECS/EKS).
• Knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of Data Mesh and Data Product concepts.
  
  
  

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or similar large multinational environments.
• Relevant certifications in data engineering, analytics, and AI are a plus.
