Lead Design Engineer - Instrument Panel & Door

Overview

Your mission, roles and requirements:

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer who could design and govern end‑to‑end program styling

What You'll Do:

• Responsible to manage team of 4-6 engineers for programs.
• Work estimation and resource alignment as per skill requirement.
• Prepare concept design & Proposals, Provide proposals for CAE failures and track co relation results.
• Organize the overall layout (PACKAGE) of new product designs. Ensure to meet product is meeting the design
• requirements. 
• Lead meetings with onsite / customer program teams, Participate in Reviews and SDT meetings. 
• Internal Quality check before sending Math data to Program leaders.
• Highlight critical issues to onsite / customer.
• Support in Hiring contract engineers. 
• Maintain internal issues list and work tracking sheets. 
• Responsible for successful launch of program with dedicated responsibility for product.
• Adhere to program timeline, create e-BOM, process flow, technical document & completing technical sign offs.
• Provide performance/regulation requirements from customer to create TDM.
• Maintain lessons learnt, GD&T & Tolerance Stack up, VAVE activities.
• Execute and implement ECNs (Engineering Change Notice)
• Participate in the advanced trial production with manufacturing process engineers, and solve the problems
• related to the design of the product structure and materials during the trial / production process and organize
• design changes when necessary.
• Identify and address issue root cause using problem solving skills such as A3, 8D etc.
• Establish DFMEA. Identify special characteristics from customer input.
• Meet all Craftsmanship/build objective requirements to complete signoff.
• Create Benchmarking Document, Understanding Rm Requirements & Manufacturing Process.
• Basic understanding of Phases of Product development.
• Basic understanding of IATF 16949 Documentation.
• Support Preparation of Documentation for Various internal and external Audits.
• Problem-solving skills such as A3, 8D etc.

What You Will Bring:

• Capable of coaching team members to accomplish assignments.
• Expertise in Catia v5 and UG NX both CAD tools.
• Effective written and oral communication skills in English & Hindi.
• Knowledge of any Data Management Systems (TcPLM), 
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing relative to the function.
• Strong knowledge of plastic components and multiple Manufacturing Process.
• Experience to work with cross functional teams.
• Understanding of program milestone and deliverables.
• Tooling, Cut Sew wrap & décor technology. 
• Good knowledge of automotive interiors part design & Development.

Preferred Experience:

• 5-17 years of experience on engineering and CAD areas.
• 5+ years of experience in leading IP/ DP/ FC Product design programs.
• Experience of IP/ DP/ FC Program launch.
