Lead DevOps Engineer

Overview

As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) within our organization, you'll play a pivotal role in enhancing the reliability, scalability, and performance of our technology infrastructure, crucial for our continued success in the fintech sector. This role calls for innovative system design, automation, and efficient management of our cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring our products deliver a seamless user experience. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to advance our platform's stability, embrace continuous improvement, and adhere to strict compliance and security standards.

Job Responsibilities:

• System Design and Architecture: Collaborate across teams to design scalable, secure, and resilient systems. Evaluate current architectures, focusing on improvements that align with best practices in cloud computing and compliance requirements
• Automation and Tooling: Lead in the development of automation tools for deployment and management, utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Application as Code principles to ensure consistent, reproducible, and scalable deployments. This includes leveraging tools to streamline application deployments.
• Incident Management on LIVE support: Direct incident response strategies, oversee on-call rotations, conduct detailed postmortems, and enact measures to prevent future incidents, maintaining high system integrity and availability.
• Monitoring, Alerting, and Service Mesh: Implement and maintain advanced monitoring and alerting systems using Prometheus, Grafana via service meshes (e.g., Istio, Linkerd) for in-depth insights and control.
• Performance Optimization and Disaster Recovery: Optimize system performance, undertake capacity planning, and design a robust, drill-ready disaster recovery system that guarantees minimal downtime and rapid recovery.
• Security, Compliance, and Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with the security team to enforce system and application security, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards applicable for NBFC's (e.g., ISO, etc). Advocate for the latest SecOps practices and refine CI/CD pipelines for efficiency and agility.

Qualifications and Competencies:

• Strategic Collaboration and Communication: Outstanding ability to collaborate and communicate across various teams, promoting a cohesive and innovative work environment.
• Relevant Experience: 5-7 years in a senior SRE role, with preference for experience in the fintech or lending sectors. Demonstrated capability in managing cloud-based, large-scale production environments.
• Comprehensive experience across major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), including cloud event management.
• Proficient in containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes), with hands-on experience in application deployment tools like Helm.
• Expertise in service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd,etc) for superior system observability and control.
• Security and Compliance: A solid background in SecOps and regulatory compliance, especially relevant in the fintech industry, is highly desired.
• Innovation and Leadership: A passion for employing the latest in cloud technology and a proactive approach to taking ownership and driving the scalable growth of a leading-edge NBFC platform.
