Lead Engineer - Scrum Master

What You’ll Do

The scrum master hosts daily meetings(scrum ceremonies) to get hands-on updates on the project, address potential impediments and link up team activities with the product owner’s wish list. They also hold demo sessions along with the Technical Product Owners (TPOs) to demonstrate the project progress to the stakeholders. These sessions are a platform to gain feedback which is important for the project team. The scrum master creates release plans that include deliverables and the release deadline. The scrum master also plans and estimates the highest value deliverables for the next release. A scrum master must also ensure the success and sustainability of the project by reflecting on process issues and taking appropriate actions

Job Responsibilities

• Facilitates team events, including the daily stand-up, sprint planning, sprint retrospective, and sprint review
• Guides the team toward predictable delivery of work product that meets the Definition of Done
• Champions continuous improvement, seeks ways to help the team improve their efficiency
• Works with the team to foster a culture of technical craftsmanship and high quality
• Coaches the team in Scrum,Scaled Agile, Kanban concepts
• Helps guide the team through the PI planning process, supporting them in creating a plan, identifying dependencies, and mitigating risk
• Keeps the team focused on deliverables by working with engineering manager to remove impediments
• Supports the Product Owner in their responsibility of managing the backlog
• Builds partnerships with other Scrum Masters and Agile practitioners throughout the enterprise, advancing the state of practice
• Assists the team in forming working agreements and adhering to them
• Records meaningful metrics that the team finds useful and uses them to implement quantifiable improvement
  
  
  

Qualifications

Bachelors in engineering. MBA or advanced engineering degree is a plus.

• Minimum 2+ years of experience as Scrum Master and/or facilitator
• Minimum 8+ years experience working in Agile environment.
• Experience or leading scrum for the software development team including embedded software development.
• Scrum Master Certification (CSM or PSM I)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are key to success in this role
• Expert level experience with Jira/Confluence, TFS/ADO or equivalent ALM tools.
• SAFe® Scrum Master experience is a big plus.
  
  
  

Skills

• Prior experience working as engineer for development or testing of software/firmware products.
• Multi-lingual communication skills, to serve most effectively both the development teams in Pune, India and the Project Manager & the other team members in Pittsburgh, PA, USA
• Willing and able to commit to work times for periodic communications between Pittsburgh and Pune, even if for short periods.
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability and an innovative mind set.
• Strategic planning ability and strong organizational skills.
• Practical experience and understanding of product development teams.
• Composed in stressful situations and flexible to change
