Role Description
We are looking for an experienced Lead Java Developer with strong proficiency in Java 8+, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture to join and lead a dynamic backend development team. This role requires both deep technical knowledge and proven leadership abilities to drive backend development initiatives, ensure high code quality, and mentor a team of developers. You will be a key player in shaping scalable, secure, and performant enterprise solutions.

We are looking for an experienced Lead Java Developer with strong proficiency in Java 8+, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture to join and lead a dynamic backend development team. This role requires both deep technical knowledge and proven leadership abilities to drive backend development initiatives, ensure high code quality, and mentor a team of developers. You will be a key player in shaping scalable, secure, and performant enterprise solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable backend services and APIs using Java 8+ and Spring Boot.
- Architect and implement robust microservices aligned with business requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, architects, and DevOps engineers, to define and execute technical roadmaps.
- Enforce coding standards, best practices, and maintain high code quality across the team.
- Perform regular code reviews, provide technical guidance, and mentor junior developers.
- Drive sprint planning, backlog grooming, task estimation, and sprint execution using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies proactively.
- Continuously optimize application performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Support hiring efforts and contribute to building a high-performing development team.
- Provide production support and ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Java 8 or higher – Strong hands-on experience
- Expertise in Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Security, and Spring Cloud
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful API development
- Experience with RDBMS (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and ORM frameworks (e.g., Hibernate)
- Strong background in unit testing and TDD using tools like JUnit and Mockito
- Familiar with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and build tools (Maven, Gradle)
- Working knowledge of Docker and containerization best practices
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues
- Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring backend teams in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Effective stakeholder management and cross-team collaboration skills
- A mindset focused on continuous improvement, learning, and innovation
