Lead Software Engineer - Java Full Stack

Developer Lead with sound experience in Agile methodologies, Java suite of technologies, Cloud technologies with prior experience in investment banking domain

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank's Equities Tech team, you will be part of a team of innovators and technologists. Your role will be pivotal in leading the development of modern solutions that enhance our business operations. Your extensive expertise in design, development, problem-solving, testing, and product integration will be vital to our success. Your familiarity with various technology delivery concepts such as Domain Promoten Design, API-oriented development, microservices, event-based architectures, and automation will be instrumental in propelling our team forward.

Job responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
• Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
• Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
• Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
• Identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
• Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
• Experience in leading development in addition to hands on experience using Spring Boot, RestAPI development, React, Java, Oracle, Cloud, Kafka and design patterns (e.g. micro services, APIs)
• Strong Application development background with Design Thinking. Passionate about working in Technology team
• Experience in Jira, Jenkins, Bit bucket, Splunk. Familiarity with Unix/Linux environment.
• Understanding and implementation of test-driven development
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
• Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
• Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g. cloud )
