Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Machine Learning Engineer with a strong background in biology or biomedical sciences to join our team. You will work on developing and deploying machine learning models for cell classification and image analysis, contributing to impactful biomedical research and diagnostics.Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and optimize machine learning pipelines for cell/nuclei classification in microscopy images.
- Work with image segmentation tools (e.g., Cellpose) and extract quantitative features from biological images.
- Build, train, and evaluate classification models (e.g., Random Forest, deep learning) for distinguishing cell types (e.g., lymphocytes, leukocytes, artifacts).
- Collaborate with biologists and clinicians to interpret results and refine models.
- Automate data preprocessing, feature extraction, and annotation workflows.
- Maintain clean, well-documented, and reproducible code (Python).
- Analyze and visualize results, and communicate findings to interdisciplinary teams.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in machine learning and bioimage analysis.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Solid understanding of cell biology, histology, or related biomedical domains.
- Proficiency in Python and scientific libraries (NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, OpenCV, scikit-image, etc.).
- Experience with image analysis and segmentation tools (e.g., Cellpose, ImageJ, Fiji, or similar).
- Hands-on experience with machine learning model development and evaluation.
- Ability to work with large datasets, perform data cleaning, and feature engineering.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in interdisciplinary teams.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras).
- Familiarity with cloud computing or high-performance computing environments.
- Experience with annotation tools and managing labeled datasets.
- Prior work in digital pathology, cytometry, or related biomedical imaging fields.
- Publications or open-source contributions in bioimage analysis or machine learning.

Contract length: 6 months
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
