Manual QA Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Manual Test Engineer with strong analytical ability, exceptional test case execution skills, and the capability to own and drive end-to-end testing for assigned projects. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently while ensuring the highest product quality.

Key Responsibilities
Test Planning & Execution

Analyze requirements, functional specifications, and user stories to create detailed test plans.

Design, write, and execute clear, comprehensive test cases for web/mobile applications.

Perform functional, regression, usability, smoke, sanity, cross-browser, and exploratory testing.

Identify gaps in requirements and proactively raise clarifications with the product/engineering team.

Project Ownership

Take full responsibility for the entire testing lifecycle of a project/module.

Collaborate with developers, product managers, and designers to ensure smooth QA processes.

Track testing progress, risks, dependencies, and quality metrics.

Ensure timely test execution and delivery within sprint timelines.

Defect Management

Log defects with detailed reproduction steps, screenshots, logs, or videos.

Collaborate closely with developers for quick bug resolution.

Re-test and validate fixes in subsequent builds.

Documentation

Maintain structured test documentation including test scenarios, test data, test reports, and release notes.

Continuously update test cases based on new features and changes.

Process Improvement

Identify process inefficiencies and suggest improvements to enhance product quality.

Participate in QA reviews, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Required Skills

3+ years of experience in manual testing of web and/or mobile applications.

Strong experience in creating, organizing, and executing detailed test cases.

Hands-on experience with bug-tracking tools like Jira, Trello, Asana, Bugzilla, or ClickUp.

Strong understanding of testing methodologies:

Functional testing

Regression testing

Smoke/Sanity testing

Exploratory testing

UI/UX validation

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and own a project end-to-end without constant guidance.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Good to Have

Knowledge of SQL for basic data validation.

Understanding of APIs and ability to validate responses through tools like Postman.

Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Experience in writing test documentation and release reports.
