Mid/Senior Back-End Developer (Django)

📍 Remote | 🕒 Full-Time or Part-Time | 📆 3-Month Initial Contract (Potential for Extension)

💰 Compensation: $200–$600/month (Full-Time, based on experience and skill level)

💰 Compensation: ₹16,700 – ₹50,000/month in-hand (Full-Time, based on experience and skill level)

We’re looking for a driven and experienced Django back-end developer to help scale and enhance our production platform at Hously – the AI-powered real estate solution reshaping how properties are discovered and managed.

This role is ideal for developers who thrive in fast-paced, early-stage startup environments and are eager to make a real impact on product development.

As a core team member, you will:

• Scale and optimize our existing Django-based modules
• Co-develop new data-driven features and backend logic
• Build reliable, scalable APIs and integrations
• Work independently and asynchronously within a small international team
• Be part of rapid iteration and feedback cycles

• 4+ years of professional back-end development experience (for Senior)
• 2–3 years considered (for Mid-Level)
• Strong hands-on experience with Django, Python, and RESTful APIs
• Proficiency in PostgreSQL and data modeling
• Understanding of scalable software architecture
• Solid command of English (written & spoken)
• Familiarity with Agile development and version control (Git)

• Experience with data analysis, algorithms, or system design
• Interest or exposure to AI / ML / computer vision / automation
• Experience with Plesk, VPS/server management, or CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of secure coding practices
• Comfort with Postman and API documentation

• You are analytical, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
• You work well independently and enjoy solving complex problems
• You’re comfortable wearing multiple hats in a startup environment
• You communicate clearly and work well in a remote team
