Mobile Automation QA Engineer

Overview

About the Role
We are building an AI-driven bio-signal (EEG-based) mobile product and are looking for a strong
Mobile Automation QA Engineer to own and scale our automation strategy. This role is focused on building a stable, CI-integrated mobile automation framework while contributing to long-term AI validation maturity.

Responsibilities
● Mobile Automation Ownership
○ Own, design, build, and scale mobile automation frameworks.
○ Implement mobile automation using Appium and/or native frameworks such as
XCUITest (iOS) and Espresso (Android).
○ Hands-on experience with mobile automation framework setup including device capabilities, driver configuration, and execution on real devices or device farms.
○ Automate critical user journeys, device pairing flows, and session workflows
Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines
○ Maintain stable nightly regression and PR-level smoke suites
○ Monitor and reduce flaky tests
● Device & Integration Validation
○ Automate BLE-based device workflows
○ Validate pairing, reconnection, session lifecycle, and firmware triggers
○ Capture logs and debug automation failures effectively
● AI & Signal Validation Collaboration (Good to Have / Growth Area)
○ Contribute to building test harnesses for validating AI behavior
○ Work with recorded datasets to simulate real-time scenarios
○ Help define measurable validation metrics
○ (Experience in ML testing is not mandatory, but curiosity and system thinking is important.)
● Conduct functional, regression, integration, usability, and performance testing of AI-based
mobile applications.
● Work closely with developers, ML engineers, and product managers to understand feature
behavior and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
● Identify, isolate, and report defects with detailed logs, screenshots, and test data.
● Create and maintain test data sets for conversational and contextual validation scenarios.
● Analyze automation results and provide insights for continuous product quality improvement.
● Mentor and guide junior QA engineers to strengthen automation and testing best practices.
● Stay current with AI/NLP testing methodologies, automation tools, and emerging QA practices.
● Follow secure development, testing, and deployment guidelines to ensure data integrity
and compliance.

Requirements
● 3+ years of hands-on experience in mobile automation (iOS and/or Android
preferred).
● Experience integrating automation with CI/CD
● Strong debugging skills
● Proficiency in API testing using Postman, RestAssured, or similar tools.
● Familiarity with Git workflows
● Understanding of mobile app architecture
● Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies.
● Experience with Git, JIRA, and CI/CD integration.
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to edge cases and response
accuracy.
● Experience in writing MySQL/SQL queries for validation and data-driven testing.
● Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working in cross-functional teams.
● Strong attention to detail and quality-driven mindset.

Good to have
● Experience testing BLE / IoT / wearable devices
● Experience in performance or battery testing
● Basic scripting knowledge (Python preferred)
● Exposure to AI/ML-based systems
● Experience working in fast-moving product teams
