JOB PROFILE

• ●The key mission of the role is to identify actionable insights from the available data using the latest technologies (e.g., machine learning in Python) to enhance productivity at the factories. Insights will be delivered in clear format for the business (eg. charts, slide decks, Power BI reports).

• ●The role involves maintaining Barry Callebaut CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) and delivering reports, dashboards, and data extracts for stakeholders (Manufacturing Operations). It also includes managing master data related to MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations), such as equipment and spare parts master data, with similar deliverables.

• ●This role supports all 60+ plants globally, with a focus on those using SAP and/or CMMS and engages in cross-functional collaborations to empower teams with data analysis for specific projects or use cases. Key counterparts include the Manufacturing Execution teams (process, CI, Operations) and the global Process Excellence team. Additionally, the role supports Engineering, Process & Operational Excellence, and Sourcing teams by providing data for productivity and cost improvement initiatives

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE

• Identify actionable insights from the available data. Extract, analyze, and interpret data from a variety of sources, including CMMS, MES, and other operational systems, to provide actionable insights and maximize reliability of our assets worldwide. Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in MRO data, and translate these findings into meaningful reports and dashboards for different levels of the organization. Illustrations
• Provide benchmarks for job plans linked to the overall maintenance strategies (Preventive, Corrective, predictive, prescriptive maintenance)
• Act a global point of contact for our spare parts data cleansing and harmonization initiative. Adjust inventory levels (min/max) and manage the global governance / oversight. Coordinate elimination of duplicate and obsolete spare parts. Work with teams on VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) or consignment stock initiatives
• Develop and maintain CMMS, its master data governance and training, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for maintenance, ensuring alignment with both operational efficiency and strategic objectives.
• Acting as a super user for CMMS or master data gold record and continuously evaluating and improving processes and workflows to enhance efficiency, data quality, user experience and reliability insights. Supporting sites in their implementation of the CMMS roadmap as part of the BCOS (Barry Callebaut Operating System) PM pillar. Produce technical training content, supporting site capabilities in terms of CMMS users and reliability engineer
• Managing master data for spare parts, new equipment and services
• Promote and facilitate the democratization of data and the use of digital tools within the maintenance function to enhance decision-making and operational performance. Empower end users through self-service analytics (PowerBI); own and improve the exposed dataset, creation methodologies and documentation
• Continuously improve maintenance data analytics processes, methodologies, and tools. Proactively resolve data issues in cooperation with the digital team + support improvement of tools to enhance data quality. Collaborate with maintenance teams, IT, and other stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, accessibility, and relevance.
• Applies standardized technical reporting principles (SQL SPs, supported global reporting tools, change management, documentation …)

EDUCATION, LANGUAGE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering, IT or Data & Computer Science
• 8+ years of Experience with databases / SQL required
• 8+ years of Experience with python in machine learning required
• Data visualization / reporting tools (PowerBI / SSRS / Tableau / SAC)
• Basic understanding of manufacturing automation (PLC / SCADA / MES / Historian / OSI PI)

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE / TECHNICAL OR FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES

• >8 years’ experience with python as a data scientist, with proficiency in data exploration, machine learning, and visualization
• Preferably > 1 year exposure to industrial data from processing or manufacturing industry or power plants
• Demonstrated experience in data analysis, KPI development, and reporting
• Strong understanding of maintenance operations and asset management principles.
• Reliability and/or maintenance management background is highly desirable, as well as experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is highly desirable
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to communicate complex data insights in a clear and understandable manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
