APPWRK IT Solutions is a fast growing custom software development company based in Mohali, Punjab. We work with international clients, especially in the USA and Europe, to build high quality digital products. For this position, we are hiring on behalf of one of our long term clients, a leading product based company that is scaling its mobile engineering team. The selected candidate will be part of APPWRK payroll and culture while working closely with our client team. This role is primarily based at our Mohali office and may involve occasional short visits to the client office for workshops, planning sessions or important releases.

About The Role

We are looking for a Native Android Developer who is strong in Kotlin and modern Android development practices. You will work on scalable, high performance mobile apps for international clients and collaborate with designers, backend developers and product owners.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform using Kotlin.
• Translate UI and UX designs into clean, pixel perfect, responsive layouts.
• Integrate apps with RESTful APIs, WebSockets and third party SDKs.
• Work with offline storage, background services, push notifications and deep links.
• Implement clean architecture patterns, for example MVVM and repository pattern.
• Write reusable, testable and efficient code, and follow coding standards.
• Identify and fix bugs, performance bottlenecks and memory issues.
• Work closely with QA to ensure high quality releases.
• Participate in sprint planning, code reviews and technical discussions.
• Keep up to date with latest Android and Google Play guidelines.
  
  

• Strong experience in Kotlin and Android SDK.
• Solid understanding of Android components including Activities, Fragments, Services, Broadcast Receivers and Content Providers.
• Hands on experience with Jetpack components such as ViewModel, LiveData, Room, Navigation and WorkManager.
• Good knowledge of Coroutines and Flows for async programming.
• Good knowledge of REST APIs, JSON and API integration.
• Experience with Git and standard branching workflows.
• Familiarity with dependency injection such as Hilt, Dagger or Koin.
• Experience with unit testing and instrumentation testing on Android.
• Understanding of Material Design guidelines and responsive UI across devices.
• Strong problem solving skills and ability to work in an agile environment.
• Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  
  

• Experience with Jetpack Compose UI.
• Knowledge of CI and CD pipelines for Android such as GitHub Actions, Bitrise or Jenkins.
• Experience with Firebase services such as Analytics, Crashlytics, FCM and Remote Config.
• Experience working with apps that handle real time data, payments or complex forms.
• Exposure to React Native or Flutter is a plus but not mandatory.
