Job Description

A Network Engineer plays a crucial role in the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of an organization's network infrastructure. This professional is responsible for establishing and maintaining network performance by building net configurations, troubleshooting network problems, securing network systems, and collaborating with network architects on network optimization. The position requires a deep understanding of network hardware and software, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. As a pivotal part of IT support, the Network Engineer ensures that the network operates efficiently, remains secure, and supports the company’s IT strategy effectively and efficiently. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills to interact seamlessly with both technical and non-technical staff.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement reliable and scalable network solutions for the organization.
• Monitor network performance to ensure smooth operations and high availability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues quickly to minimize downtime.
• Conduct periodic network assessments and maintain detailed documentation for optimization.
• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate new network technologies effectively.
• Implement network security measures to protect sensitive data and systems.
• Evaluate and recommend network hardware and software upgrades as necessary.
• Manage network configuration, including adding and configuring new routers and switches.
• Support and train staff on network systems and protocols as needed.
• Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of emerging networking technologies and industry trends.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution of emergency protocols.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant network standards and security policies.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Network Engineer or similar networking role is essential.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
• Hands-on experience with routers, switches, and firewalls configuration and troubleshooting.
• Certification such as CCNP, CCDP, or equivalent is highly desirable for this role.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
