We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT

team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing advanced technical support and expertise in

the maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of our network infrastructure. You will work

closely with other IT professionals to ensure the highest levels of performance, security, and

reliability for our network systems.

Responsibilities

Key Role Features

• Advanced Network Support: Provide third-line support for complex network issues, working
  
  

to resolve incidents and problems that have been escalated from lower support levels.

• Network Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor network performance, identify and resolve
  
  

bottlenecks, and ensure the network is running efficiently and securely.

• Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate network documentation, including
  
  

configurations, network diagrams, and process guidelines.

• Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams, including first and second-line support, to
  
  

ensure seamless integration and operation of network systems.

• Engagement with suppliers ensuring services are delivered efficiently
• Be part of the wider Compute and API team on-call rota.
  
  

Key KPIs

• Quality and timeliness of deliverables.
• Customer satisfaction and feedback.
• Compliance with network standards and policies.
• Manage and maintain L2/L3 switches, routers, and multiplatform firewalls (e.g., Cisco,
  
  

Juniper)

• Monitor MPLS and internet circuits, ensuring uptime and performance
• Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN), configure and install various
  
  

network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, SD-WAN,

VPN, QoS).

• Perform network change control and implementation
• Provide 24x7 operational support and incident resolution
• Analyze and resolve connectivity and network-related issues
• Ensure regular network backups and restoration procedures
• Generate daily and weekly reports on network health and incidents
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams for issue resolution and upgrades
• Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and SOPs
  
  

What will help you succeed in this role?

Required Technology Competencies

• Strong understanding of LAN/WAN technologies and TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN protocols
• Experience of setting up new offices from greenfield to brownfield desirable
• Knowledge of networking hardware including Structured cabling, switches, WLC and routers
• Hands-on experience with Cisco CLI, Juniper JUNOS, Palo Alto and Fortinet/Mist platforms
• Hands-on experience in network analysis tools including SolarWinds
• Hands on experience of communication and routing protocols
• Proficiency in network monitoring tools and performance tuning
• Experience maintaining SolarWinds network monitoring tool to keep the system current and
  
  

true to the network.

• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Strong verbal and written communication
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Knowledge of Teams Telephony.
• Knowledge of Azure networking (NSG’s, Peering, Routing, vNets, ExpressRoutes, NAT
  
  

gateway, Azure VPN etc)

Required Experience And Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on third-line support.
• Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant certifications, such as CCNA, CCNP or equivalent, are highly desirable.
