Network Engineer L2

Overview

NOTE: Its Dispatch OnDemand Freelance onsite work on Per day rates

Key Responsibilities:

• Network Troubleshooting & Support:
• Provide L2 technical support for network-related issues, including troubleshooting and resolution of incidents.
• Manage network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.) and diagnose network performance and connectivity issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to DNS, DHCP, VLAN, VPN, and other networking protocols.
• Network Monitoring & Maintenance:
• Monitor network performance, identify and address potential issues, and ensure the smooth operation of the network.
• Perform regular network health checks and proactively manage network optimization.
• Conduct periodic upgrades and patches to network devices and software.
• Configuration & Installation:
• Assist with the configuration and installation of network devices and hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.).
• Work with the team to implement network changes, upgrades, and improvements as required.
• Documentation:
• Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Record and update incident reports and service tickets in the ticketing system.
• Collaboration & Escalation:
• Collaborate with L1 engineers to resolve technical issues and assist in escalating more complex issues to L3 engineers.
• Assist with network design and provide input to senior network engineers for capacity planning.
• Security Management:
• Ensure network security by implementing and maintaining firewalls, access controls, and intrusion prevention systems (IPS).
• Monitor for any unauthorized access or security breaches and respond to incidents accordingly.
• Customer Service:
• Provide high-quality customer service and communicate effectively with internal teams and clients to resolve network-related issues in a timely manner.
• Training & Development:
• Stay up to date with the latest networking technologies and industry best practices.
• Participate in training programs and certifications to improve knowledge and skills in network engineering.
• Network devices (switches, servers, firewalls,etc.)

· Two photographs of each Switch in the rack – Front and back

· Patching details of each Switch: uplinks, stacking cables

· Structured Cabling plan from Cable installer:

· Drawings of existing structured cabling.

· List of the amount of free structured cabling between MDF (main equipment room) and IDFs (satellite equipment room)

· Report of the remaining fiber and copper cabling targeted for reuse, including cabling specifications (e.g., length attenuation, labeling, routing, patch positions).

· Final Design of the new topology and creation of Bill of Materials based on the proposed Hardware.

Pay: ₹4,000.00 - ₹5,000.00 per day
