Purpose of role
The Network Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of Client’s enterprise network and datacentre infrastructure. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining network solutions, supporting multi-datacentre environments, and collaborating with internal IT teams and third-party vendors. The engineer will ensure operational excellence by following ITIL processes, proactively troubleshooting issues, and maintaining accurate technical documentation.
Duties and responsibilities
Network Infrastructure Engineer:
- Configure, monitor, and maintain enterprise networking solutions including Cisco Nexus & Catalyst switches, Meraki SD-WAN, and Wi-Fi.
- Implement VLANs, static routing, and core networking concepts within datacentre and enterprise environments.
- Perform network troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and maintain comprehensive documentation.
- Administer and support firewalls (Checkpoint preferred) and ensure network security principles are applied.
- Support storage infrastructure, including SAN/distributed storage, and multi-datacentre environments.
- Assist with virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere and provide awareness of VMware Horizon VDI.
- Use monitoring tools (PRTG) to proactively detect and resolve network and infrastructure issues.
- Follow ITIL processes for change management and patch management.
- Work effectively with internal teams and third-party vendors for issue resolution.
- Produce clear documentation and communicate changes effectively.
Skills/Experience
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise networking and datacentre environments.
- Exposure to Telecommunications & Networking Solutions Providers.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes, change management, and network documentation.
- BFSI experience is a plus but not mandatory.
