Network & Security Engineer L2

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Network Support Engineer L2 to provide advanced-level support, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of enterprise network infrastructure and services. The role involves working closely with internal teams and clients to ensure network reliability, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert-level technical support for SD-WAN, Cisco Meraki, Juniper Mist, WAN/LAN, Routers, Firewalls, Wireless Controllers, Cisco Switch Stack, Load Balancers, Cisco ISE, and Cisco ISA/XDR.
• Manage and support remote access solutions like SSL/IPSEC VPN.
• Troubleshoot and resolve DNS, DHCP, and IP scope-related issues.
• Coordinate with ISP vendors for link restoration and issue resolution (ILL, MPLS, SD-WAN, Fiber Channel).
• Use CLI for managing Routing, Switching, Firewalls, SD-WAN, QoS, Traffic Shaping, IOS upgrades, configuration backup/restore, and protocol setup.
• Handle connectivity issues involving Microsoft apps, Cloud platforms, ERP/SAP systems, and VLANs.
• Respond to major incidents via NMS tools and resolve tickets within SLA.
• Maintain and update incident, change, and problem records in ITSM tools.
• Document and manage system configurations and knowledge base content.
• Communicate with clients and internal teams on ticket updates, outages, and RCA findings.
• Escalate complex issues to appropriate engineering teams to avoid SLA breaches.
• Collaborate with Asset, Compliance, Security, and SOC/NOC teams to follow best practices.
• Use centralized tools (NMS/ITSM/ITAM) for effective issue resolution.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience in enterprise network support and troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols and enterprise tools.
• Proficiency with Cisco, Juniper, SD-WAN, and CLI.
• Experience using ITSM and network monitoring systems (NMS).
• Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Certifications like CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA are preferred.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
