Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Oracle Data Engineer to join our data team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Informatica, and PL/SQL. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and supporting our data infrastructure to meet business and analytics needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL workflows using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and/or Informatica.
- Write efficient, scalable, complex PL/SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts.
- Optimise and troubleshoot existing data processes for performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with data analysts, architects, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Ensure data quality, governance, and integrity throughout the pipeline.
- Monitor and maintain data workflows, error handling, and job scheduling using tools like Control-M.
- Assist in data modelling, data warehouse design, and implementation.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI).
- 6+ years of experience with Informatica PowerCenter or Informatica Cloud.
- Strong command over Oracle PL/SQL – writing, tuning, and debugging procedures/functions/packages.
- Good understanding of data warehouse concepts, ETL best practices, and data integration patterns.
- Familiarity with job schedulers and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting of ETL/ELT jobs.
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality tools is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure).
- Exposure to Python or Shell scripting for data manipulation and automation.
- Knowledge of data visualisation tools like Tableau or Power BI.
