Role purpose
The Load & Performance Tester is responsible for guaranteeing the resilience, scalability and performance of the bank’s applications. The role designs, implements and analyses load‑testing programmes, validates capacity against business expectations, and drives continuous optimisation of the underlying infrastructure and software components.
Core responsibilities
Test design & planning
- Define realistic load‑testing scenarios that reflect production usage patterns.
- Identify, extract and prepare the data required for each scenario.
Test development
- Create and maintain test scripts in Tricentis NeoLoad and LoadRunner.
- Automate execution of performance tests for PI (M2C) applications deployed on OpenShift.
Test execution
- Conduct functional and non‑functional load tests, monitoring system metrics (CPU, memory, I/O, network, database) throughout the run.
Result analysis
- Analyse response times, throughput, error rates and resource utilisation.
- Perform root‑cause analysis on any performance degradations detected.
Defect management
- Log performance‑related defects, track remediation activities and verify corrective actions.
Performance optimisation
- Identify bottlenecks and recommend architectural, configuration or code‑level improvements.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure and operations teams to implement tuning measures.
Required qualifications & experience
- Education – Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field (or equivalent).
- Professional experience – Minimum 8 years in IT software quality assurance/testing, including at least 6 years dedicated to load and performance testing and 6 years working with PI applications and M2C architecture.
- Technical expertise – Proficiency in Linux, Java, Tomcat 9+, Spring, Oracle‑DB and OpenShift. Advanced competence with Tricentis NeoLoad and LoadRunner.
- Tool & process knowledge – Design, scripting, execution and analysis of performance tests; defect lifecycle management; root‑cause investigation.
- Leadership – Demonstrated experience supervising 2‑4 direct reports and developing team capabilities.
- Skill level – BNPP Skill Matrix rating 5 (expert).

- In‑depth knowledge of the Linux/Java technology stack and performance‑testing tools.
- Ability to independently design, execute and interpret complex load‑testing scenarios.
- Familiarity with containerised environments (OpenShift) and database performance tuning (Oracle).
