Job Overview And Responsibilities

As a Performance Test Engineer within the Quality Engineering @ United Airlines, you will collaborate intimately with software developers, product managers, and other members of the project team to pinpoint and mitigate software and hardware performance bottlenecks. Your role is vital in guaranteeing the performance, scalability, and reliability of our software, hardware, and cloud infrastructure.

In this capacity, you will be tasked with devising and conducting performance tests on our applications to confirm that they are scalable, dependable, and perform in accordance with our expectations.

• Design and execute performance tests to assess the performance and scalability of software applications based on performance requirements.
• Develop and sustain performance test plans, cases, and scripts.
• Detect performance bottlenecks and propose optimization solutions; analyze test outcomes and offer insights to the development teams.
• Adhere to performance testing best practices and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
• Maintain performance test results dashboards and reports. Provide project/release sign-off approval based on the outcomes of performance tests results.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to reach project milestones.

Qualifications

Required (Minimum Qualifications):

• Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
• 2 - 4 years of related experience
• AWS Cloud Practitioner
• In-depth understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
• Hands-on experience in performance testing tools such as LoadRunner, JMeter, Gatling, among others.
• Programming/Scripting skills in Java, Python, SQL
• Knowledge of Software Test Life Cycle and familiarity with Agile & Waterfall Methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and Scaled Agile frameworks.
• Integration of performance testing within a DevOps CI/CD pipeline
• Comprehension of test environment and release management principles
• Experience with Cloud Technologies
