Pricing Data Analyst

What You'll Do

Avalara’s Pricing Strategy team is looking for a highly motivated individual to join as a Pricing Analyst. This position will focus on strategic pricing projects that drive impactful contributions and results for the business. The role is designed to focus on data and analytical components of pricing strategy. There is an expectation for this person to deliver insights and valuable findings for the team’s ongoing initiatives as well as their own. It’s an opportunity to join a team that is shaping Avalara’s revenue, profitability, and overall pricing standards now and into the future. Given the high level of visibility and influence this position has, we expect candidates to have sharp attention to details and overall executive presence.

Job Duties

• Provide monthly performance updates of tracked pricing initiatives.
• Proactively monitor and facilitate analytical needs within the pricing team.
• Analyze and report out product performance data and historical trends including: attachment rates, ASP, ARR, bookings, discounting, etc.
• Compare monthly pricing KPIs to previous periods and determine the cause for any significant changes.
• Create and maintain visualizations with reporting components from multiple data sources emphasizing automation of key insights.
• Ensure standardization of reporting and data management.
• Manage bi-weekly presentations, complete summaries, next steps and action items. Ensure all projects are current in JIRA systems.
• Generate ideas to automate existing processes and workflows so that the Pricing organization is faster and more efficient.
• Maintain optimal levels of communication with local team and that of the US counterparts, manager.
• Understand the team priorities and work assignment based on delivery requirements.
• Quality of work needs to meet very high standards. There is an expectation for high attention to detail on all work deliverables.
• Ability to communicate effectively over the phone, email with the usage of appropriate verbiage and very good language skills.
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  
  

What You'll Need to be Successful

Education – Bachelor of Science, Masters in Finance or Masters in Business Administration

Technical Skills

Must-Have

• Proven experience with Microsoft Office including MS word, MS Excel & MS Outlook.
• Intermediate SQL (Snowflake)
• PowerBI Data Visualization
  
  

Good-to-Have

• Knowledge of sales & use tax
• Experience with CRM software like Salesforce (CPQ).
• Experience in scheduling meeting using tools like Zoom.
• Experience with tracking software like Atlassian Jira/Confluence.
• Experience in working with US-based teams

• Very good written / oral language skills in English
