About The Team

This position is for Loan Accounting Platform team under Lending Technology. Team would be focusing on developing, maintaining applications responsible for Loan Accounting Platform which includes Loan IQ Platform and other .NET home grown applications.

Impact

The Principal Software Engineer is a senior technical leader responsible for guiding the design, development, and delivery of our Loan Accounting Platform applications especially Loan IQ product. You will serve as the go-to expert for the .NET stack, ensuring our solutions are built on a foundation of sound architectural principles. Your role is critical in translating complex business needs into robust, scalable, and secure software. By leading technical design sessions, tackling the most challenging coding tasks, and championing best practices, you will directly contribute to the modernization of our technology and the success of our engineering teams.

Key Deliverables (Duties And Responsibilities)

• Architectural Design & Implementation
• Lead the technical design and development of key components and services for large-scale banking applications using the .NET framework for Loan IQ
• Contribute to the creation and evolution of architectural standards, design patterns, and best practices within the .NET ecosystem.
• Ensure designs are scalable, resilient, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise architecture strategy.
• Conduct in-depth code reviews, providing constructive feedback to ensure high quality and adherence to standards.
• Technical Leadership & Mentorship:
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to senior and junior engineers, fostering their growth in .NET technologies and software engineering principles.
• Lead by example with hands-on development of complex features, proof-of-concepts, and critical bug fixes.
• Champion modern software engineering practices, including SOLID principles, unit testing, and secure coding within the team.
• Problem Solving & System Improvement:
• Analyze, debug, and resolve complex technical issues related to performance, scalability, and security in production systems.
• Drive technical debt reduction and refactoring efforts to improve the health and longevity of our applications.
• Evaluate new .NET features, libraries, and related technologies, recommending their adoption where they can provide significant value.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Partner effectively with product managers, business analysts, and quality engineers to deliver well-rounded, end-to-end solutions.
• Clearly articulate complex technical concepts and design decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ensure solutions are designed and implemented in accordance with strict banking security and compliance requirements.
  
  

Skills And Qualification

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 13-15 years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on building enterprise grade applications.
• Significant experience working in the banking or financial services industry. Loan IQ expertise is preferred. Should have at-least Basic knowledge on Loan IQ
• Good knowledge on Oracle to understand and develop data models, ability to write / understand complex SQL queries
• Good to have knowledge on Xquery, XPath
  
  

Functional Skills (Banking Domain)

• Strong understanding of banking or financial services concepts.
• Experience developing applications for domains such as Payments, Lending, Treasury, or Risk & Compliance.
• Familiarity with the security and regulatory constraints of the financial industry.
  
  

Technical Skills (.NET Focus)

• Core .NET: Expert-level proficiency in C# and the .NET Framework / .NET Core / .NET 5+. Deep understanding of the CLR, garbage collection, and asynchronous programming (async/await).
• Web & API Development: Extensive hands-on experience building robust, secure, and scalable web APIs using ASP.NET Core.
• Architecture & Design Patterns: Strong knowledge of software architecture principles, microservices, and common design patterns (e.g., Singleton, Factory, Dependency Injection).
• Database: Strong proficiency in data modeling and database development using Microsoft SQL Server, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning. Experience with ORMs like Entity Framework Core.
• DevOps & Testing: Solid experience with CI/CD principles and tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins). A strong advocate for unit testing, integration testing, and code quality metrics.

This role requires strong interpersonal skills to effectively guide teams and collaborate across functions.

You will work hand-in-hand with your Engineering Team, acting as a technical pillar and mentor.

You will be a key technical partner to Product Managers, helping to refine requirements and define technical solutions.

You will collaborate with the Architecture Group to ensure your designs are in harmony with the broader enterprise vision.

You will build relationships with Infrastructure and DevOps Teams to ensure smooth deployment and operation of your applications.

You will be a trusted voice in discussions with Technology Leadership, providing clear insights into project status, technical challenges, and opportunities.
