About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Principal Systems Engineer to provide advanced technical leadership across the design, development, and integration of complex software and hardware systems. This role is ideal for professionals who have deep systems engineering expertise and can drive large-scale initiatives while collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
You will be responsible for leading system architecture efforts, managing requirements, ensuring seamless integration, and guiding projects throughout the full systems lifecycle. This position also requires strong leadership capabilities, as you will mentor engineering teams and influence both internal and external stakeholders
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Systems Engineering

Lead system requirements decomposition, architecture, design, development, and integration efforts.

Provide advanced technical oversight to ensure alignment with system, customer, and contractual requirements.

Address complex technical challenges through advanced analytical and problem-solving approaches.

Develop and adapt methodologies to improve system quality and performance.
Stakeholder & Customer Engagement

Serve as a technical consultant and subject matter expert at the project/program level.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure solutions meet technical and operational needs.

Act as a liaison with customers, offering direction and influencing solution strategies.
Team Leadership & Mentoring

Guide a team of engineers/business analysts (5–6+ members), supporting their technical growth and leadership development.

Lead risk assessments, trade studies, and system modeling to support decision-making.
Project Execution & Governance

Drive development of system verification and validation plans.

Contribute to proposal efforts, including creation of system architectures and cost estimations.

Support continuous improvement of systems engineering processes and best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
Must Have (Deal Breakers)

10+ years as a Business Analyst or Systems Engineer with strong technical exposure.

Hands-on skills in API, SQL, reporting, UML, BRD creation.

Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, EA, Visio, or similar tools.

Proven experience leading a team of 5–6 members or more.
Core Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with 10+ years of relevant experience.

8+ years in a software-driven technology environment.
-
5+ years working on engineering projects involving complex systems.
-
3+ years of experience in Program/Project Management.

Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall SDLC methodologies.

Experience in systems engineering or solution architecture.

Strong understanding of software development best practices.
